About the Research
The UrbanWalking project is a collaborative research initiative between the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Our team conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognitive psychology, urban planning, and transportation safety.
We focus on understanding how pedestrians — particularly children — perceive and respond to hazards in urban traffic environments, and how urban design can be improved to reduce pedestrian accidents and promote active mobility.
